About the Author

NickMy name is Nick Cernis (pronounced Churnis). I’m a web developer who spent almost 5 years putting off starting a business, leaving my dreams and schemes on beer mats, and reading about other peoples’ success. In late 2006 I finally woke up – I was reading more about doing things than actually fulfilling my life’s goals.

I’d put things off long enough. In 2007 I left a comfortable full time job with the goal of starting a business, travelling, writing and making the most of life. It’s proving to be one of the most productive decisions I’ve made.

I started Put Things Off to share the tips and advice that I’d found useful in an easily-digestible format, and to give people of all ages the knowledge to transform their lives, work independently and successfully chase their dreams.

I sincerely hope that PTO encourages you to adopt small, simple habits that combine to make your life happier and more fulfilling. If you like the site, I’d be thrilled if you’d consider subscribing or advertising.

I’m 25 years young and currently live in West Yorkshire in the United Kingdom, where I’m happy to conform to global stereotypes of the British by drinking tea, living in a castle and practising poor oral hygiene.

Why call a productivity blog Put Things Off?

Partly because “Put Things Off” shares an acronym with “Paid Time Off”. Since many of you are no doubt reading this during your working day and on someone else’s payroll, the link should prove satisfying in itself.

The brave self-employed and other champions amongst you can give yourselves a pat on the back at this point – you have only been wasting your own time and money by reading this paragraph!
